County seeks proposals for juvenile crime prevention programs

The Durham County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council is seeking proposals for  programs to fund in the 2025-2026 fiscal year.

The council has identified risk factors and needs of youth involved with juvenile court in the county and is requesting proposals for programs that address those factors. It expects to receive $701,101 from the North Carolina Department of Public Safety Division of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention to fund these programs.

This money prioritizes community-based programs that strengthen and expand juvenile court sanctions and treatment services. Programs seeking funding should address identified risk factors and provide treatment, rehabilitation or academic enhancement.

Interested local public agencies, private nonprofits and housing authorities must complete and submit an online application.

A mandatory funding information session will be held virtually on Thursday, Jan. 29, from 10 a.m. to noon. No registration is required.

More information is available on the county’s website.
