Durham Public Schools announced the appointment of two new officials: Jeremy Teetor as chief finance officer and Joshua Brown as principal of the Durham Early College of Health Sciences.
Teetor, who brings extensive experience in finance and education, will assume his new role on Nov. 4. He currently serves as a financial consultant and has advised multiple North Carolina public school systems, including Caswell, Hertford, Northampton, Scotland and Warren counties. He also served Alamance-Burlington and Caswell counties as chief business officer and chief finance officer, respectively. Teetor earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Elon University.
Brown will lead the Durham Early College of Health Sciences, effective Jan. 10. The school will welcome its first students in August 2025. Brown is currently principal of Graham High School in the Alamance-Burlington School System and has also served as an assistant principal in the Alamance-Burlington and Wake County school districts. He began his teaching career in Durham at Neal Middle School. Brown earned a bachelor’s degree from Emory & Henry College and a master’s degree from Gardner-Webb University.
