The pilot program is among several election changes mandated by the North Carolina General Assembly last year as part of Senate Bill 747.
Durham is one of 10 counties participating in the pilot. The program uses software to compare signatures on absentee applications and envelopes with voters’ signatures on file with elections offices.
At the 5:30 p.m. meeting, elections officials will manually review signatures that were rejected by the software during the pilot. Results will be shared with the State Board of Elections.
The meeting agenda is available online, and public comments can be submitted in advance to the Durham County Board of Elections.
Members of the public who attend the meeting will also have an opportunity to ask questions of the board.
