The City of Durham is offering funding for community-based organizations to host free summer programs for underserved youth.
The funding opportunity, administered by the city’s Neighborhood Improvement Services Department, aims to provide equitable access to high-quality, community-driven programs, the city said.
The city has allocated a $150,000 budget for the opportunity and expects to fund three to six programs with awards of up to $50,000.
Funding can be used to enhance existing programs or launch new initiatives. Eligible activities include educational, recreational, arts, sports, mentorship, entrepreneurial or outdoor programs for youth ages 5 to 18. Programs must operate between June and August 2025 and may run for the entire timeframe or for shorter durations.
Organizations have until 5 p.m. on Dec. 30 to submit their proposals. More information is available online.
