Durham Parks and Recreation and Beyond Fences will host their annual Barktoberfest event on Saturday, Oct. 26.
The event will feature a dog costume contest, agility courses, local vendors and opportunities for dogs to socialize.
Beyond Fences, a local nonprofit organization that provides food and resources to pet owners in need, will host a canine food drive at the event.
More than 20 local dog businesses will be present, along with local adoption and foster organizations. Beer and food will be available for purchase, with 100% of beer sales benefitting Beyond Fences.
The event will take place from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Durham Central Park, 501 Foster St.
More information is available on the parks and recreation department’s website.
