Aging Well Durham, a nonprofit organization that aims to make Durham more livable for older adults, will host a community meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 25, to share updates about the Durham Aging Plan.
Durham has two plans that serve as blueprints to ensure that older adults have equitable access to Durham’s resources. One plan, developed in 2019 by representatives from community organizations, healthcare, public health, city and county governments and individuals, established a list of 33 goals and was intended to guide efforts in Durham through 2025.
Last year, Aging Well Durham worked with community groups to develop a new comprehensive aging plan for 2024-2029. The organization says it is finalizing the new plan and will share it with the public soon.
The meeting, which will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Duke Memorial United Method Church, 504 W. Chapel Hill St., will feature updates on the plan, tabletop activities and refreshments.
Registration is available online or by calling 919-599-9642 for English or 984-338-7663 for Spanish.
