Letisha Judd-Manning will be the new principal of Lowe’s Grove Middle School, Durham Public Schools announced.
The new principal was born and raised in Durham and has served 10 years as a principal in Durham and Chapel Hill.
Judd-Manning, who begins the position July 1, has also served as an assistant principal and has spent 6 years in positions at the district level in Durham and Vance Counties.
“My vision is that every child receives a high-quality education that equips them to pursue dreams and achieve goals in our evolving global society,” said Judd-Manning. “Believing in the potential of people as an organization’s greatest asset fuels my passion for building vision, fostering collaborative partnerships, and empowering community. This is truly a full-circle moment for me.”
DPS also announced that Darian Harris has been named the school district’s director of career and technical education. Harris has previously served as a career development coordinator, career and technical education lead coordinator and a math, marketing and business education teacher.
Harris will start as the new CTE director effective July 1.
“My background as an accountant and involvement as a professional educator and coach for the last 20 years have prepared me for this opportunity as the Director of CTE,” said Harris. “I plan to use and build on this momentum to continue offering programming that equips our students with the skills to be successful in the workforce.”
