The Durham Arts Council is currently accepting applications for its Emerging Artists Program, a grant program designed to support artists in furthering their careers.
The program offers financial assistance for projects deemed pivotal to an artist’s development, regardless of their career stage.
The maximum grant award is $1,500, but applications can be for any amount up to that maximum. Funding for the program is provided by The Mary Duke Biddle Foundation, the Kelley Katzenmeyer Fund, the Anika James Foundation, the DAC Annual Arts Fund and is supported by Chatham, Orange and Person Counties.
To be eligible, artists must be at least 18 years old, have resided in Chatham, Durham, Granville, Orange or Person Counties for at least one year prior to the application deadline and not be currently enrolled in a degree or certificate program in their art form at the time of the application deadline. The program is open to individual artists practicing any art form.
Applications are due by Dec. 19. More information and applications are available on the Durham Arts Council’s website.
