Lakewood Avenue reopens to traffic; Roxboro Street to have continued lane shifts

Lakewood Avenue is expected to reopen to traffic today, the city’s water management department announced in a news release.

The street had been closed as the city worked to replace and enlarge an existing sanitary sewer line along Lakewood Avenue from Duke Street to Roxboro Street. The project will replace approximately 2,700 feet of sewer lines.

Roxboro Street will have continued lane closures between Hillside Avenue and Morehead Avenue through the fall, the city said. Portions of the sidewalk near work areas along Roxboro Street will also have temporary closures.
