Cooperative Extension to host workshop for underserved farmers

The Durham County Cooperative Extension will host a free workshop offering resources for underserved farmers and landowners on Tuesday, Jan. 28, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the cooperative extension offices, 721 Foster St.

The workshop will provide information about resources available from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Natural Resources Conservation Service and other organizations.

Those encouraged to attend include beginning farmers with less than 10 years of experience, farmers with limited resources, women and individuals who are socially disadvantaged based on race or ethnicity.

Attendance is not restricted to Durham County residents. Lunch will be provided, and free parking is available in the lot and on the street near the building.

A virtual option will be available. Those interested in attending virtually should contact Sonja Bloodworth or Tawana Burns for login information.
