DPS to showcase student talent at annual arts event

Durham Public Schools and the DPS Foundation will host their annual student arts showcase and scholarship fundraising event, An Evening to Shine, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at the Durham Performing Arts Center.

More than 500 elementary, middle and high school students will showcase their vocal, dance and visual arts talents. The event is expected to draw more than 2,500 people.

Proceeds from the event support the Durham Promise Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to graduating seniors at DPS high schools. The showcase is guided by vocal clinicians, artists and choreographers.
