DPS announces new leadership appointments

Durham Public Schools has announced two new leadership appointments.

Brandon Hodges will serve as principal of Southern School of Energy and Sustainability, effective Feb. 3, 2025. Micheál P. Lynch will be the district’s senior executive director for building services. 

Hodges previously served as assistant principal at Southeast Raleigh Magnet IB World High School. He earned bachelor’s degrees from North Carolina Central University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received a master’s degree from Appalachian State University. He expects to complete a doctorate from Appalachian State University in the fall.

Lynch joins DPS with experience in project management, facilities management and budgeting, having worked in university, K-12 and municipal settings. He most recently served as associate vice chancellor for facilities management at North Carolina Central University. He earned a degree from Technological University in Dublin, Ireland.
