RTP gets centralized mail delivery

The United States Postal Service has begun centralized mail delivery in Research Triangle Park.

The Research Triangle Foundation of North Carolina, a nonprofit that manages RTP, said in a news release that it had worked together with the postal service to implement changes necessary to establish centralized mail delivery for the first time since RTP was established 65 years ago. Previously, RTP relied on a single U.S. Post Office that required organizations to retrieve their mail daily.

RTP is home to 375 companies and 55,000 employees across 7,000 acres, according to the news release.

Street delivery began to select addresses on Nov. 2. Delivery routes are expected to expand as additional companies and organizations opt for street address mail service.
