Hayti Heritage Center to open $5K stipend program for Durham artists

Artists in Durham can apply at the Hayti Heritage Center for financial assistance through the American Rescue Plan Act Arts, Culture & Sustainability Stipend Program.

The program will award $5,000 stipends to eligible artists residing in the City of Durham or Durham County. Applications for the first cycle will open Nov. 4 and close Nov. 22.

The program aims to support artists recovering from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, fostering their growth and contributions to Durham’s arts scene. The Hayti Heritage Center is dedicated to preserving and advancing the heritage and culture of the historic Hayti and African American communities.
