GoDurham, the city and county’s public transit system, will launch a new microtransit program offering shuttles to and from East and North Durham destinations on Oct. 21.
The East Durham zone will include locations including The Wellons Village bus stop, Southern High School and several parks and locations along U.S. Highway 70. The North Durham zone will include West Point on the Eno, Riverside and Northern High Schools and stops along Hebron Road and at several parks.
The service will be available daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Microtransit shuttles and vans are smaller vehicles than traditional fixed-route buses, allowing routes and schedules to better fit riders’ needs, according to a news release from the county.
Riders can book a microtransit shuttle in the GoDurham ACCES Rider App, available on Android and Apple devices, on the Rider Web platform or by calling the GoDurham ACCESS line at 919-560-1551.
More information about GoDurham’s microtransit program is available online.
