Racial reconciliation group to host one-man performance on race, justice, equity

The “More Than Neighbors” racial reconciliation group at Mount Sylvan United Methodist Church will host a one-man performance exploring race, justice and equity.

The performance, developed by Sonny Kelly, is modeled after a conversation Kelly had with his son after the death of Freddie Gray in 2015.

Kelly is a performer and storyteller who earned a doctorate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a full-time instructor of communication at Fayetteville Technical Community College.

The event will take place Saturday, Oct. 19 at 3 p.m. at Mount Sylvan United Methodist Church, 5731 N. Roxboro St. Admission is $5 per person and registration is available online. Questions for Kelly may be submitted in advance via email to TheTalkAtMtSylvan@gmail.com.
