Fire ants, herbicide use to be discussed at Pasture Field Day

The Soil and Water Conservation Districts of Durham, Orange and Person Counties will host the annual Tri-County Pasture Field Day on Sept. 26.

The event, which will run from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. at Gates Farm, 3735 Jefferson Gates Place in Hurdle Mills, will focus on pasture and livestock management, with topics including fire ants, fencing, weeds/herbicide use and handling facilities.

Agricultural vendors will have booths on site, and sponsors will provide lunch to attendees.

Registration for the free event is available online until Sept. 20.
