Regional planning agency seeks input on congestion management

The Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization is seeking public comment for an update to its Congestion Management Process.

Federal law mandates a congestion management process for metro areas with more than 200,000 people.

This year’s update includes three products: a System Status Report, a Mobility Report Card and an online dashboard. The System Status Report identifies congestion issues, outlines mitigation strategies and improvements. The Mobility Report Card provides a broader analysis, including things like roadway, transit and bicycle and pedestrian mobility. The online dashboard presents transportation metrics visually, offering a detailed analysis of the data.

Residents and stakeholders are invited to review the plan and share feedback online or by emailing or calling Yanping Zhang at 919-503-4125. Comments are due before Oct. 2.
