Regional planning agency seeks comment on amendment to transportation plan

The Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization is seeking public comments on an amendment to its 10-year Transportation Improvement Program.

The Transportation Improvement Program is a decade-long funding plan for bicycle, pedestrian, highway, rail, and public transportation projects.

The amendment adds funding to existing projects and adds new projects from the latest Call for Projects, the organization said in a release. It includes money from recently awarded funds, like the Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity grant and the Charging and Fueling Infrastructure grant.

The amendment also would incorporate updates from the N.C. Department of Transportation and other administrative modifications.

A summary sheet of the amendment, along with the full report, is available online.

The MPO will accept comments through Sept. 18. Comments may be made online, by email to filmon.fishastion@dchcmpo.org or by phone at 919-503-4117.
