The Western Intake Partnership will host a community open house to discuss the Jordan Lake Water Supply Project on Sept. 10 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Chatham Community Library in Pittsboro.
The project will provide access to Jordan Lake’s water supply while protecting its other uses and natural resources, the city of Durham said in a release. The water supply project will serve the City of Durham, Town of Pittsboro, Chatham County and the Orange Water and Sewer Authority.
The partnership will include the construction of a water intake and treatment facility on Jordan Lake, as well as booster pumping stations and drinking water supply pipelines.
Attendees at the open house will have the opportunity to review project updates, view the finalized route, learn about construction impacts and speak with members of the project team.
Residents can submit a comment at the meeting, on the partnership’s website or by mailing a letter to Jeff Adkins, WIP Program Manager, at HDR, 555 Fayetteville St., Suite 900, Raleigh, NC 27601.
More information is available on the project website.
