The city is seeking public comment on a proposed new roadway that would extend Woodcroft Parkway from Hope Valley Road to Garrett Road.
The city says the project will reduce traffic congestion at nearby intersections and provide sidewalk and bicycle connections by adding a multi-use path and sidewalk.
As part of the project, an approximately 24-foot long section of sidewalk will be built on the Garrett Road Park property.
Construction will not adversely affect the activities, features or attributes of Garrett Road Park, according to a release from the city.
A public comment period will take place from Aug. 21 to Sept. 4. Comments may be emailed to eric.vitale@durhamnc.gov. More information about the project is available on the city’s website.
