The Pauli Murray Center for History and Social Justice is set to open to the public on Sept. 7.
The center is dedicated to Murray, a human rights activist, legal scholar, feminist, poet, Episcopal priest, LGBTQ community member and Durham native.
The grand opening event will feature original poetry readings, refreshments, meditation and reflection opportunities, a youth activity zone, a community concert and guided tours.
Reservations for the grand opening tours will be available on the center’s website on Aug. 1 at 8 a.m.
The center is located at Murray’s childhood home, 906 Carroll St.
