After nearly 15 years, Fullsteam Brewery will leave its current location at 726 Rigsbee Ave., the brewery announced.
In a social media post, owner Sean Lilly Wilson attributed the move to a need for increased space for production and distribution, an opportunity for a new taproom and a proposed rent increase at the current location. Fullsteam opened on Rigsbee Avenue in 2010.
The Rigsbee location will stop serving food on Wednesday, July 31, Wilson said. The taproom’s final day open to the public will be Oct. 31. Wilson said the brewery’s current lease expires in June 2025, and Fullsteam intends to use the Rigsbee Avenue location as a production-only space until then.
Fullsteam’s satellite location in Research Triangle Park will remain open. Details about the brewery’s plans for a new taproom have yet to be announced.
