Mayor Leonardo Williams has been selected to participate in a professional development program at Harvard University for mayors and senior city leaders.
The yearlong program, the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative, offers classroom, virtual and field-based education designed to provide mayors with tools and skills to improve their work in their cities.
Williams joins 39 mayors from 11 countries in the eighth class of the program.
Williams said he planned to focus on helping youth through public-private partnerships and community engagement.
The program is supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies, the Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard Business School.
