County allocates $2.25 million in American Rescue Plan funds to support small business initiatives

Durham County has allocated $2.25 million to two local nonprofits to provide a network of resources to support small businesses.

Forward Cities received a $1.5 million award to administer a program called E3 Durham which will provide assessment and referral to partner organizations, strategic coordination of service providers, monthly events and other services.

Knox Street Studios, awarded $750,000, will offer direct services through accelerators, incubators and counseling.

The county allocated funds for these two nonprofits using money from the American Rescue Plan Act.

All services offered by both nonprofits will be available for free to eligible small businesses.
