Alert Durham shifting to new platform

The free emergency notification service Alert Durham will change providers, requiring county residents to create a new account to continue to receive notifications.

Users must create an account on the Alert Durham website by Aug. 1.

Alert Durham is a free service that provides emergency notifications through voice, text and email.

Registered users can select what notifications they receive and when they receive them. Notifications are sent based on the address provided when registering, not the geolocation of the device. Users also may enter multiple locations if they want.
