Walltown residents invited to plan community’s future

The city’s planning department is inviting Walltown residents to a kickoff meeting to develop a plan for the community, which will include land use recommendations.

The plan will help guide and inform possible decisions by the City Council about development in Walltown, a historically Black neighborhood located north of Duke University’s East Campus. The goal of the plan is to include residents’ feedback on new development and improvements to publicly owned spaces.

The kickoff meeting is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to noon on June 29 at the Walltown Recreation Center. More information on the project is available on the city’s website.
