Arts Council announces free DEIA training

The Durham Arts Council will offer free Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility training for artists, and nonprofits and small businesses with an arts and cultural focus.

Supported by grants from the city’s American Rescue Plan Act program, the training is free for qualified participants. Participants will also have the opportunity to apply to receive a participation fee of $2,000 for 4 sessions or $1,500 for 3 sessions.

Durham Arts Council has selected two training partners: The Equity Paradigm will offer four virtual sessions of DEI training on Tuesdays, June 4 to June 25, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Arts Access North Carolina will host accessibility training in four virtual sessions on Wednesday, June 5; Thursday, June 6; Wednesday, June 12; and Thursday, June 13, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Individuals and arts and cultural organizations can sign up to participate online. The deadline to sign up is May 30.
