The city of Durham will host a public safety community listening session on Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. at W.D. Hill Recreation Center, 1308 Fayetteville St.
The session offers residents the opportunity to share insights with the Durham Fire Department, Durham Police Department, Community Safety Department and the Durham Emergency Communications Center. Topics will include public safety data such as fire locations, crime statistics, 911 call volumes and mental health calls to HEART.
The session will be capped at 50 people with additional opportunities to follow. Refreshments will be provided and registration is available online. All adults 18 years and older are eligible to participate.
