RDU adds nonstop flight to Mexico City

The first nonstop flight from Mexico City International arrived at Raleigh-Durham International Airport on Monday, the latest addition to the airport’s international destinations.

Mexico City is the 10th international city served by the airport and the second Mexico destination. RDU also offers nonstop flights to Cancun.

“The launch of Mexico City service connects the Raleigh-Durham market with a valuable business hub, vibrant leisure destination and one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world,” said Michael Landguth, president and CEO of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority.

The daily Mexico City flight is operated by Aeromexico in an Embraer E-190 jet and takes 4 hours, 24 minutes.

RDU was the fastest-growing airport among the county’s top 50 airports last year, setting records for passenger traffic on the busiest single day and busiest month. The airport has also doubled the number of international cities it serves since 2019.
