County offers grants to boost agricultural education, farm projects

Applications are now open for the Agricultural Economic Development Grant program, which has been allocated $250,000 for this fiscal year.

The program is designed to offer cost-share grants to assist farmers and nonprofits in their agricultural endeavors, and to promote the creation of agriculture development and outdoor environmental learning centers in schools.

The program offers two types of grants: Schools may receive up to $1,500 to support agriculture education, and farmers and nonprofits may receive up to $10,000.

Applications are due by August 23. More information and applications are available on the county’s website.
