Sheriff’s Office earns reaccreditation

The Durham County Sheriff’s Office has received reaccreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.

This marks the ninth time the Sheriff’s Office has received accreditation, first in 1998.

The commission, established in 1979, develops standards for best practices in public safety. Accreditation is voluntary and demonstrates compliance with the group’s standards.

Durham County Sheriff’s Office is also accredited by the National Commission on Correctional Healthcare and the American Correctional Association.
