Saint James Seafood has faced serious setbacks since it first opened in 2017 on Main Street in Durham’s Bright Leaf District. First a deadly gas line explosion forced the restaurant to close in 2019. Saint James had just reopened when the pandemic struck in 2020. Now the restaurant is back once again, serving up oysters and fresh seafood. Ninth Street Journal reporter Julianna Rennie visited Saint James and brings a report on a resilient participant in the local culinary scene.
