Daniel Meier says Durham can be pro police and pro community

A defense attorney, city council candidate Daniel Meier emphasizes his experience with Durham’s criminal justice system on the campaign trail.

The city can both expand ethical policing and reduce neighborhood conditions that contribute to crime, he says. That will require police and the community working together.

Meier scored fewer votes than any other candidate in a primary vote early this month. Yet he hopes his message will expand how many city voters head to the polls by Nov. 5.

9th Street reporter Michaela Towfighi introduces Meier’s vision for a better Durham here.
