E-bikes and seated scooters now available for rent

City residents and visitors can now rent e-bikes and seated scooters along with electric scooters.

Electric scooters have been available for short-term use through the city’s Shared Micromobility program since 2019.

Transportation department staff and representatives from Spin and Veo will host a public showcase of the new vehicles on Thursday, Aug. 22 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Durham Station Transportation Center, 515 W. Pettigrew St.

All vehicles are available for $1 to unlock and $0.39 per minute. Multi-use passes are available from Spin and Veo. Eligible residents are also able to receive discounted rates for all trips through the companies’ access programs, Spin Access and Veo Access.

More information about the new vehicles is available on the city’s website.
