Promises Kept, Broken and In the Works: a look at the mayor’s campaign promises

In her campaign for mayor two years ago, Elaine O’Neil made a lot of promises. She vowed to fill vacancies in the police department and pay officers more; she said she would fund city-wide networks of sidewalks and protected bike lanes; and she promised to declare racism a public health crisis.

Staff writer Sevana Wenn compiled 23 of O’Neal’s promises and researched how well the mayor has done with each of them since she got elected.  Read a summary of the promises here and examine the complete list here. We’ll be updating it as needed.
