UNC Health and Duke Health have <\/span>announced a partnership<\/span><\/a> to establish North Carolina’s first freestanding children’s hospital.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The new facility, named NC Children’s, will be a private, tax-exempt organization governed by a 501(c)(3) structure.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The partnership aims to provide a higher volume of specialized pediatric care within the state, allowing families to remain in North Carolina for treatment of children\u2019s complex medical needs.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The comprehensive children’s health campus, planned for a yet-to-be-identified site in the Triangle, will feature a 500-bed hospital, a children’s outpatient care center and a children’s behavioral health center.
