Community members will have the opportunity to learn more about the nearly $21 million in National Opioid Settlement funds the county will receive at a community meeting on June 24 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Durham County Board of Commissioners Chambers at 200 E. Main Street.<\/span><\/p>\n The settlement is part of a $26 billion fund that will provide public services needed to address the ongoing opioid epidemic. Durham County is slated to receive nearly $21 million over the next 18 years.<\/span><\/p>\n In 2023, the county hosted an initial community input session and conducted an online survey to discuss funding priorities.
