Jillian Johnson worked for a more left-leaning Durham government for years before she was elected to the City Council in 2015.<\/p>\n
In her campaign for a second term, Johnson continues to embrace the progressive themes that motivate her. They include expanding affordable housing; more eco-friendly planning and development; and more equitable sharing of public resources.<\/p>\n
Critics balk at some of what Johnson has said and done when it comes to city police. They question her choice to share a campaign platform with two other incumbents campaigning to remain on the council.<\/p>\n
