A deluge of information requests hits N.C. elections offices

As the November election approaches, record numbers of information requests are flooding in to elections offices across the state.

Ninth Street Journal reporter Hana Stepnick spoke with elections officials in Durham, Raleigh, Charlotte and elsewhere. All report a similar phenomenon: Scads of freedom of information requests are pouring into their offices, including time-consuming requests that demand hours of staff time. Meanwhile, groups such as the North Carolina Audit Force are urging their followers to place requests.
