City and county to commemorate life of MLK together

The city and county governments will host a joint program honoring Martin Luther King Jr. on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 11:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 305 E. Main St. 

Anthony S. Lewis, superintendent of Durham Public Schools, will be the keynote speaker. The event will also include remarks from local leaders and elected officials, as well as musical selections by singer, songwriter and violinist Kimberly Michelle.

The event is free and open to the public.
